| Bio: |  Hello! I'm Christina... Do you know me? Drop me an email or something! Always happy to reconnect with old friends (and new ones.) I grew up mostly in Amherst and Northampton (Massachusetts), with a few school stints in Paris and Geneva. Moved to Atlanta to go to Emory University in 1991, and been here ever since. Graduated with a degree in Theatre Studies, and am now a professional meeting and events planner living in Decatur, an eclectic suburb of Atlanta. (It's actually just like Northampton except that the lesbians have southern accents.)  Devoted cat owner, happily married, passionate lover of literature, general peace-seeker. Facing the cheerful light, trying to keep my dark side at bay with varying degrees of success. Former goth chick in high school (in the 80's, when alternative was actually alternative, it was a big deal that I had more than one earring in each ear, and nice girls didn't wear leather jackets - jesus I feel old - you kids get offa my lawn), now your average Married Young Professional Techno-Pagan with a house in the suburbs.  And yes, I am one of those people who watch The Daily Show for my news. It's like an eclipse - I need a filter to be able to tolerate the daily stupidity of mankind, and our administration in particular. I should add that I'm a Francophile and Anglophile, and am increasingly disillusioned with American culture. I have a tendency to fall into patterns of obsessions that take up focus in my life - in high school it was The Rocky Horror Picture Show (I played Columbia), in college it was Highlander: The Series, post-college was Buffy The Vampire Slayer (the series), and most recently Hex. Minor past obsessions have included (but are not limited to) repeated arguments on the merits of the Kenneth Branagh version of Henry V versus the Laurence Olivier version, reading everything Tom Robbins ever wrote, and having my toenails painted with increasingly complicated designs. I'm actually obsession-less at the moment, so feel free to suggest new ways to take up my mental energy. Pagan Note: I consider myself a Pagan/Wiccan by philosophy, and less so as an actual religion, as I agree with Karl Marx that "religion is the opiate of the masses", and therefore should be avoided at all costs. Spiritual philosophy, on the other hand, I respect. That being said, I believe in Magick as a karmic force. Livejournal note #1: Much of my LJ is public, but I've started posting more friends-only stuff lately, particularly as my personal life has gotten more complicated.
