I'm going to be childish and sing nanny-nanny boo-boo for just a moment
Reading some of the McCain supporters' comments on-line this morning, lamenting the "end of America as we know it" and whinging about how now we'll become some sort of horrible Communist country, I just have to post this. And yes, I'm gloating:

I just don't understand where all of the fear comes from - I like to read forums with mixed opinions, and there are people who seem genuinely afraid of what President Obama is going to do. And I really don't understand. I listened to the man speak last night and was so moved and overwhelmed - I can't remember the last time I actually listened to an entire political speech, from start to finish.

Anyhow, I didn't create that image - was just amused when I saw it posted in another thread.

There was an Evangelical rumor going around that Obama is the Antichrist. A lot of it came from really inaccurate interpretations of a passage from the bible, I believe Leviticus. I've seen people changing words around to make them apply to Obama when the actual text says no such thing.
Point is, these supposedly pious Christians don't know their bible well enough to challenge the new, false wording.

Hey, wait... was it my imagination, or did John McCain just pledge his support to a president who until today was an incompetent Marxist who pals around with terrorists?

If by "America as we know it" means an America that invades countries for control of their resources, tortures prisoners, spies on its own citizens, and whittles away at our civil liberties, then I say good riddance.

Someone on NPR this morning compared Obama's win to 9/11.

I feel very, very sorry for these people.

WHY?? I really want one of these doomsayers to explain just what exactly is so terrifying to them about President Obama. And then I can explain to them why they're deluded.

Like I said before - I don't think the man walks on water and will fix all that ails us, but I think he's an excellent choice for President of the United States, and I'm excited to see how he can help repair at least some of the damage that's been done fiscally, morally, etc.
